Andrés Delgado Casteleiro
Before joining the Max Planck Institute Luxembourg, Andrés Delgado Casteleiro was a lecturer at Durham University where he also co-directed its European Law Institute. Andrés holds a PhD in Law from the European University Institute, Florence (Italy). He has held different visiting positions at the University of Utrecht, Netherlands (2011), the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas - ICADE, Madrid, Spain (2011-2012), and the Institut de recherche en Droit international et européen de la Sorbonne (2014) . Andrés has also been a trainee at the Legal Service of the European Commission (External Relations Team), and he is a member of the Madrid Bar Association. His current research interests revolve around EU External Relations Law. He is particularly interested in the relations between EU Law and International Law, more specifically in the field of International Economic Law and International Dispute Settlement. Among his latest publications is the monograph: “The International Responsibility of the European Union: From Competence to Normative Control,” (Cambridge University Press, 2016).
