Erik Jayme donation

Born in 1934, Prof. Jayme held the chair of civil law, private international law and comparative law at Heidelberg University. From 1997 to 1999, he presided over the Institut de Droit International. He received honoris causa doctoral titles from the Universities of Ferrara and Budapest. Through his works and teachings, Prof Jayme made a unique contribution to the development of contemporary private international law.

Prof. Jayme’s donations to Max Planck Institute Luxembourg ensure that his passions for private international law and European procedural law are shared with a broad audience of scholars and support the research needs of law study programs. His donations further reinforce the Max Planck Institute Luxembourg’s role as a leader in field of scientific legal research.
