Dr Edouard Fromageau awarded for his doctoral thesis

2 December 2017

On 2 December 2017, the Faculty of Law of the University of Geneva awarded Dr Edouard Fromageau, Senior Research Fellow at the MPI Luxembourg, the 2016 Prix François Bellot for his doctoral thesis.

Edouard Fromageau holds a dual Ph.D. (summa cum laude) in public international law from the University of Geneva (Switzerland) and Aix-Marseille University (France). Published by Bruylant in 2016, his thesis focuses on the institutional interactions between global administrative law (GAL) and public international law. It addresses questions such as: Is GAL part of the "family" of public international law? Is GAL only a theory or part of positive law? Is GAL taken into account by international and transnational institutions? What is the legal "added value" of GAL in practice?

Founded by Pierre-François Bellot (1776-1836), one of the principal authors of the Geneva Code Civil, the Prix François Bellot is awarded yearly and rewards a doctoral thesis in law or political economy from the University of Geneva.
