Prof. Marta Requejo, Coordinator of a EU Parliament In-Depth Study

28 June 2018

In June 13, an in-depth study was commissioned by the European Parliament's Policy Department for Citizens' Rights and Constitutional Affairs to a multinational research team under the leadership of Prof. Marta Requejo Isidro. The object of the research is the future relationship between the UK and the EU following the UK's withdrawal from the EU in the field of family law. Prof. Pedro de Miguel Asensio (Complutense University of Madrid) and Prof. Anatol Dutta (Ludwig Maximilians University, Munich) together with Prof. Requejo, cover the continental views on the topic, while two UK family lawyers (Tim Amos and Mark Harper) will address the UK side.

This is the second EU Parliament in-depth study in which a MPI research participates this year. Another one, co-authored by Prof. Marta Requejo Isidro (MPI Luxembourg), Prof. Pietro Franzina (University of Ferrara), Prof. Christian Heinze (Leibniz University of Hannover), and Prof. Gilles Cuniberti (University of Luxembourg), under the coordination of Prof. Pedro A. de Miguel Asensio (Complutense University of Madrid), was presented last April at a public hearing in Brussels. It analyses the ongoing work of the Hague Conference on the worldwide Judgments Convention. The study can be downloaded online. Additional material from the hearing is available on the European Parliament website.
