Prof. Pierre-Henri Conac appointed as Acting Head of both Research Departments
The Max Planck Institute Luxembourg is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Pierre-Henri Conac, Max Planck Fellow and Professor of Financial Markets Law at the University of Luxembourg, as Acting Head of the two research Departments. The Department of International Law and Dispute Resolution is dedicated to advancing international dispute resolution mechanisms, while the Department of European and Comparative Procedural Law explores civil law dispute resolution, focusing on cross-border cases and EU law. At the Institute, the research activities of the Max Planck Fellowship relate to the harmonisation of administrative sanctions and procedures in EU financial markets law.
The appointment was made by the President of the Max Planck Gesellschaft, Professor Dr. Patrick Kramer. In addition to supporting the Departments in continuing the scientific excellence of the Institute, Professor Conac also joined the Institute´s Management Board.
Professor Conac, holding both French and Luxembourg nationalities, joined the University of Luxembourg in 2006 and the Max Planck Institute Luxembourg in 2020. His research primarily focuses on securities and company law at national and European Union levels. In addition to his scholarly achievements, he has been actively involved in policy making in financial law, banking law and company law at the European Union and at the national level.
Professor Conac has also a strong international presence, having served as a visiting researcher, participated to conferences and taught at prestigious institutions worldwide.
