The Government of Luxembourg has released a proposal for major reforms of the justice system of Luxembourg in the form of two avant-projets de loi. The first avant-projet concerns the introduction of a “Conseil national de la Justice” that shall guarantee independence of the Judiciary and good administration of Justice. The second one concerns the institutionalisation of a “Cour supreme” which shall replace the existing Court of Cassation and the Constitutional Court of Luxembourg. You can find more information on the proposals here.
This proposal gives the opportunity to discuss judicial reforms in different European countries in a comparative perspective, a discussion that is gaining growing importance all over Europe.
