The Implementation of the New Insolvency Regulation – Improving Cooperation and Mutual Trust
The new Insolvency Regulation will enter into force in 2017. To facilitate the transition and to assess challenges and opportunities within the new instrument, the MPI Luxembourg, the University of Milan (UNIMI) and the University of Vienna have been tasked by the European Commission to conduct a study on "The Implementation of the New Insolvency Regulation". To conclude the project a conference will be held in Luxembourg at the MPI on October 7th.
The conference will be structured in three major panels addressing the three following topics:
- Cooperation between main and secondary proceedings.
- The applicability of the EIR on pre- and hybrid proceedings.
- New rules on the insolvency of groups of companies.
Brief preliminary presentations will introduce and outline important topical fields before each panel, and give an overview over the most interesting and problematic questions arising from the new rules.
