Amandine Faucon Alonso is a PhD candidate in private international law at KU Leuven, where she conducts a research on the development of party autonomy within European family law under the supervision of Professor Geert Van Calster. She worked as a teaching assistant in international notarial law and private international law at KU Leuven and was an intern at the Embassy of Spain in Bolivia as well as at the European Commission where she was working within the Civil Justice Policy unit (DG JUST). She holds a master’s degree in European law from the Catholic University of Louvain and a bilingual (fr-en) bachelor’s degree in law from Saint-Louis University in Brussels. Her research interests include private international law, European procedural law, international family law, notarial law and comparative law.
