Aravind Ganesh is a Research Fellow. He holds an LLB from King’s College London, a JD from Columbia Law School, and a BCL from Oxford. In addition, he is currently reading for a PhD from the Faculty of Law at VU Amsterdam, under the supervision of Professor Ester Herlin Karnell and Dr Geoffrey Gordon (TMC Asser Instituut). Before joining the Institute, Aravind volunteered in South Africa in a major civil rights organization, practised as a corporate lawyer in New York, and served as a research associate to the UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food in Brussels. He has held visiting fellowships at Université Catholique de Louvain (2009-2010) and Tel Aviv University (2014-2015), published in publications such as the Michigan Journal of International Law, Southern African Public Law, the German Law Journal, and the Columbia Journal of European Law, as well as presented at conferences on law and political theory. His research interests are EU law, public international law, private law theory, and the legal and political philosophy of Immanuel Kant.
