Aravind Ganesh is a Research Fellow.

Aravind is writing a doctoral thesis at VU Amsterdam on the European Union as a global human rights actor, under the supervision of Prof. Ester Herlin-Karnell and Dr. Geoffrey Gordon (TMC Asser Instituut, the Hague). Before beginning his doctorate, Aravind practiced for two years as an attorney in New York, and volunteered in South Africa with a major civil rights organization, where he devised litigation strategies designed to compel government fulfilment of constitutional rights to basic education. He has also been a research associate to the UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food, and has held visiting fellowships at Université Catholique de Louvain and Tel Aviv University. In addition to EU law, public international law, and international human rights law, his research interests include political philosophy and private law theory. He holds degrees in law from King’s College London, Columbia, and Oxford.
