Carlos J. Bichet Nicoletti is a Research Fellow. He holds a degree in Law and Political Science from the Universidad de Panama (Panama) with honours, and LL.M. in International Law and the Law of International Organisations, Human Rights Specialisation from the University of Groningen (Netherlands), and an LL.M. in Constitutional Law from the Centro de Estudios Politicos y Constitucionales and the Universidad Menendez Pelayo (Spain). Carlos has been a lecturer of International Law, Human Rights and Legal Theory at the Faculty of Law, Universidad de Panama in 2015 and 2016 and an affiliated Researcher to its Centre for Legal Research since 2012. From 2018 to 2019, he has been a Research Assistant to Professor Paolo Carozza at the Notre Dame Law School (University of Notre Dame) and a Teaching Assistant in his course on ‘Jurisprudence and the Foundations of International Human Rights Law’.  Carlos is a member of the International Law Association (Headquarters Branch) and recipient of its scholarship to participate in the 78th Biennial Conference held in Sydney, Australia (2018). He has been a Fulbright-Laspau Scholar for Doctoral Studies at the University of Notre Dame and has been awarded prestigious Erasmus Mundus and Fundacion Carolina Scholarships to pursue his various degrees. His current research deals with normative conceptions of justice and its implications with the rules regarding reparations, victim participation and jurisdiction in international criminal law and he is generally interested in legal theory, legal history, and critical studies.
