Evelyn Kerubo Mogere is a PhD Candidate in Public International Law at the University of Cape Town and a Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute Luxembourg for International, European, and Regulatory Procedural Law. She studied law at the University of Nairobi (LLB) before completing her Masters in International Law (LLM) at the University of Cape Town where she graduated with a distinction. She is also an alumnus of the annual IFLOS summer academy on marine and maritime law at the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea in Hamburg, which she attended by scholarship. Her Ph.D. research is about the role and place of international tribunals in the development of international law, and in particular, the form and content of jus cogens.
