Janek Tomasz Nowak is a Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute Luxembourg for International, European and Regulatory Procedural Law. He currently prepares a Ph.D. thesis on the influence of EU law on national civil procedural law, focusing on private enforcement actions in the areas of consumer law and competition law. He also teaches an introduction to EU law at the MCI Management Center Innsbruck (Austria) and is the editor of EU Procedural Law, a major textbook on procedure before the EU courts published with Oxford University Press. Before joining the Max Planck Institute he worked as a researcher at the Institute for European law of the KU Leuven (Belgium) and was an intern at the European Court of Justice in the Chambers of Judge Koen Lenaerts and in the Court’s research department. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Antwerp (Belgium) and obtained an LL.M in European Law from King’s College London (United Kingdom).
