Karoline Hovland Lyngstadaas is a Research Fellow in the Department of Department of International Law and Dispute Resolution. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Law with International Relations from Oxford Brookes University, which is a Qualifying Law Degree, and an LLM in European and International Law for the Europa-Institut at Saarland University. Soon she will defend her thesis for her second master’s degree, an M.Phil. in the Theory and Practice of Human Rights from Norwegian Centre for Human Rights at the University of Oslo. While undertaking he M.Phil. Karoline worked as a research assistant for PluriCourts at the University of Oslo, a Norwegian Centre of Excellence that studies the legitimate roles of the judiciary in the global order. Her research interest are human rights law and international dispute resolution, in particular whether human rights law imposes any procedural rules upon peace processes and whether these rights can be claimed.
