Tess Bens is a Research Fellow in the Department of European and Comparative Procedural Law. She holds an LLB in Dutch Law (2014), an LLB in International and European Law (2015), as well as an LLM (research) in Business and Law (2017) from Radboud University. In addition, she participated in summer courses organized by National Taiwan University (2014), Bucerius Law School (2015) and The Hague Academy for International Law (2016, 2018, 2021). Tess worked as lecturer in private international law at Radboud University (2018-2021) and Tilburg University (2022) before joining the Institute in August 2022. She is pursuing a PhD at the University of Luxembourg under the supervision of Prof. Burkhard Hess. Her research focusses on adaptation of unknown foreign measures and orders under the Brussels Ia-Regulation.
