Navigating Stormy Waters: The Place of Dispute Settlement in New Multilateralism

The keynote speakers will discuss the challenges to multilateral trading system and reforms necessary to modernize the existing system and make it robust for a new multilateralism.

This Public Panel will inaugurate a 2-day Chatham House symposium on "Rethinking the WTO Dispute Settlement System" with world experts on 25 - 26 May 2023 at the University of Ottawa (by invitation).

This conference of practitioners and academicians aims to produce a preliminary set of recommendations for alternatives and reforms to adjudication, for a system better adapted to current international reality.

The conference is organised by Wolfgang Alschner (University of Ottawa), Gabrielle Marceau (University of Geneva), Hélène Ruiz Fabri (Max Planck Institute Luxembourg for Procedural Law).

The event is taking place at the University of Ottawa (Room FSS 4007). Digital participation is possible. Registration is on a first come, first served basis. Registration and Attendance are free.
