Dr Jacek Dybinski is a Senior Research Fellow in the Max Planck Fellow Research Group on European Financial Markets Law at the Max Planck Institute Luxembourg for Procedural Law. He specializes in and publishes on the EU and comparative financial markets regulation, capital markets and financial instruments law, company law, corporate governance, and related consumer and new technologies law aspects. He is the editor of a series of commentaries on Financial Markets Law, including Market Abuse Regulation, Prospectus Regulation, Banking Act, Payment Services Act and Investment Funds Act.

Dr Dybinski holds a position as an Assistant Professor at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, where he taught company, securities and capital markets laws before joining the Max Planck Institute Luxembourg. He is a Lecturer of European banking and financial markets law at the University of Luxembourg and a guest lecturer on the EU capital market law at the LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome.

Dr Dybinski graduated from Harvard Law School (Master of Laws) and obtained his PhD at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, from which he also graduated with a Master’s degree. He studied and researched at Yale Law School, Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg, Harvard Law School, and Tilburg University.

Dr Dybinski is an academic member of the European Corporate Governance Institute, a fellow of the European Law Institute, and a member of an international research group on the Codification of the European Capital Markets Law. He has been involved in several regulatory projects, e.g. the application of distributed ledger technologies to financial markets, the regulation of tokens in Europe, and a reform of the Polish Code of Commercial Companies.
