Norway and the European Law of Civil Procedure
From 20 to 23 October a group of Norwegian Professors and Ph.D. students researching in the field of civil procedure visited the Max Planck Institute. On this occasion the Department of European and Comparative Procedural Law organized a seminar with the title “Norway and the European Law of Civil Procedure” which took place on 21 October in the premises of the Institute. Professor Halvard Haukeland Fredriksen (University of Bergen), Professor Tanja Domej (University of Zurich), Professor Anna Nylund (University of Tromsø), Professor Magne Strandberg (University of Bergen) and Ph.D. candidate Marie Holm (University of Bergen) delivered speeches on current developments of EU and national civil procedure from Norwegian and Swiss perspectives. The presentations were followed by comments from an EU point of view and lively discussions.The seminar led to more scientific exchange between the Institute and its guests as well as to a better understanding of the features of Norwegian and Swiss law.
