ADR & ODR in the EU: Implementing the ADR Directive and the ODR Regulation
Conference organized by the Max Planck Institute Luxembourg and the Academy of European Law (ERA), which will take place in Trier (Germany) on 5 - 6 March 2015
2015 will be a landmark year for the debate on alternative and online dispute resolution. The Consumer ADR Directive will have to be transposed into national legislation by mid-2015; the ODR platform will become operational by the end of 2015.
As a result of these EU acts, ADR & ODR should be available for any dispute regarding contractual obligations between a consumer and a business.
The Conference will provide an in-depth analysis of the legal and practical issues regarding the implementation of the Consumer Alternative Dispute Resolution Directive. Forthcoming changes after the entry into force of the Regulation on Consumer Online Dispute Resolution will also be addressed.
