The MPI Luxembourg organises a symposium on legal dimensions of data science at the European Data Science Conference

The European Data Science Conference will take place at the Neumünster Abbey Cultural Exchange Center in Luxembourg-Grund
During the European Data Science Conference, taking place in Luxembourg from 7-8 November and hosted by the University of Luxembourg, the MPI will organise a symposium on legal dimensions of data science. The conference, which acts as the inaugural conference of the European Association for Data Science, aims to provide a setting for exchange and ongoing communication.
Legal aspects of Data Science, for example in terms of data protection, data privacy and data access, are of a concern in science as well as society. Therefore, Professor Burkhard Hess, Executive Director of the MPI, will chair the symposium addressing the following topics:
“Social media and protection of privacy” - Prof. Jan von Hein, University of Freiburg
“Cross border exchanges of data” - Prof. Gerald Spindler, University of Göttingen
