Diane Marie Amann is the Emily & Ernest Woodruff Chair in International Law and a Faculty Co-Director of the Dean Rusk International Law Center at the University of Georgia School of Law. She has served since 2012 as the International Criminal Court Prosecutor’s Special Adviser on Children in & affected by Armed Conflict. Amann has published widely in public international law and transnational law, with emphases on constitutional democracy, security, and criminal justice.

In 2018, Amann will research women’s roles in international criminal trials after World War II, at the Max Planck Institute Luxembourg, University of Southern California Shoah Foundation Center for Advanced Genocide Research, and Oxford University Faculty of Law’s Bonavero Institute of Human Rights.

She has held permanent and visiting appointments at the University of California-Davis, University of California-Berkeley, UCLA, Irish Centre for Human Rights, and Université de Paris 1 (Panthéon-Sorbonne), and is a Counsellor of the American Society of International Law.
