On 5 February 2020, Björn Laukemann, Senior Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute Luxembourg, was bestowed the title of Privatdozent by the Faculty of Law of the University of Heidelberg. The Faculty of Law has approved Björn Laukemann’s Habilitation thesis and subsequently granted him the venia legendi for private law, civil procedure, private international law, and comparative law.

Personal library of Professor Jacques Van Compernolle donated to the MPI Luxembourg
Jacques Van Compernolle, Professor emeritus of the Catholic University of Louvain and renowned scholar of all aspects of procedural law, has generously donated more than 400 monographs and 300 periodicals to the Max Planck Institute Luxembourg Library. These precious contributions will greatly enrich the library’s collection, particularly in the areas of European civil law and civil procedural law.

The Department of European and Comparative Procedural Law of the Max Planck Institute Luxembourg is pleased to announce that it has recently been asked to undertake a research study for the Luxembourgish Ministère de la Protection des consommateurs (Ministry for the Protection of Consumers).
