Bin Zhao is a Research Fellow in the Department of International Law and Dispute Resolution.

He is currently pursuing a PhD in Public International Law at the University of Luxembourg under the supervision of Prof. Ruiz Fabri. His doctoral research focuses on the role of the identification and characterisation of disputes in the international dispute settlement system. He holds an LLM in International Maritime Law from the IMO – International Maritime Law Institute (IMLI, Malta) and a Master’s degree in International Law from Tsinghua University (China). He has passed the bar examination of China. He participated in the International Foundation for the Law of the Sea Summer Academy as a scholarship holder. His research interests include legal methodology, law of the sea, and jurisdictional issues on international courts and tribunals.
