Bin Zhao is a Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute Luxembourg for International, European and Regulatory Procedural Law, in the Department of International Law and Dispute Resolution. His doctoral research focuses on procedural aspects of international courts and tribunals. Bin holds an LL.M. degree in International Maritime Law from IMO International Maritime Law Institute (Malta), and a Master’s degree in International Law from Tsinghua University (China). He has passed the Bar Examination of China. He participated in the International Foundation for the Law of the Sea Summer Academy as a scholarship holder. He has published an article (The Curious Case of Ghana/Côte d’Ivoire: A Consistent Approach to Hydrocarbon Activities in the Disputed Area?) in Asian Journal of International Law. His main research interests include law of the sea, international litigation, and the relationship between phenomenology and international law.
